The Athenian women, fed up with the stupid management of the state by their men, managed to take power in a perfectly legal way and set up a genuine communist regime that achieved exemplary results.
Written around 392BC, this ambitious and irresistible play cruelly raises the problems of equality between men and women, ordinary citizens and 'people', and develops a utopia in the fashion of the time, i.e. extremely 'naughty', with very 'green' language, to the displeasure of the chagrined moralists. The version of Les Enfants Terribles departs from the traditional canons and joyfully shakes up representation; it puts the work of Antiquity into the perspective of today's world.
