With this second show, the Belgian comedian, a columnist on France Inter, returns with a new, scathing stand-up.
Guillermo Guiz - whose real name is Guy Verstraeten - grew up in Anderlecht. He was an accomplished footballer until an advanced age, but eventually became a journalist and then a nightclub manager before channelling his bubbling energy into comedy, after discovering American stand-up comedy as a shock. The comedian, who is also a columnist on France Inter, launched himself on the stage in 2015 with a first show, somewhere between Louis C.K. and Dikkenek, with acid and ultra-chiselled jokes. After two seasons at the Point-Virgule and three sold-out Bataclan shows, he is back with a second opus: Au suivant! Unfiltered, sometimes trashy, as impertinent as ever, he goes back over his upbringing, brought up by a lonely, feminist and misogynist father, who was "sure of the non-existence of God, but not of the cooking time of soft-boiled eggs". A funny and moving account of his relationship with childhood and transmission.
